"Sing Praise" Hymn Book

We are exploring the possibility of purchasing a supplementary Hymn Book to avoid, wherever possible, the need to print hymns on the Newsletter or extra sheets of paper.  This is particularly so for the Third Sunday but on other Sundays a hymn not in New English Hymnal is often appropriate.  The existing New English Hymnal would still be our staple hymn book for the traditional hymns but we would also have the option of more modern hymns, including many we are already familiar with.

The Sing Praise hymn book is designed to use with an existing book.  It has been compiled by the Royal School of Church Music and Hymns Ancient & Modern Ltd , has distinguished editors and has received very good reviews including an endorsement from the national Liturgical Committee.

We have been given a generous gift of £500 for the Hymn Book in memory of a parishioner and are applying for a grant for £600.  We are also inviting you to sponsor a book.  The cost is £7 for a words only copy, £11 for a melody line copy and £18 for a Full Music Copy.  The books can be inscribed in memory of a loved one or in thanksgiving for an event.  Because the decision to purchase has not yet been taken your offer will be a pledge only and no money will be requested at this time.  If you are interested you can find out more about the book from the web site here.  You can either fill in the form in Church by the Office or send an email to vicar@stnicholasnw.plus.net or phone 01692 406380 or fill in the online form through this link.
